Band 7 Answer

One thing I really wanted was a laptop. When I started university, I realized how important it was to have my own device for studying, doing assignments, and attending online classes. But at that time, I couldn’t afford to buy one, so I had to use the computer at the library or borrow one from a friend.

I wanted it so badly because it would make my life much easier and help me study more effectively. I started saving money from my part-time job and also asked my parents if they could help me.

It took me about four months to save enough money. Finally, I bought a mid-range laptop that was perfect for my needs. I was so happy and proud because I worked hard for it. It made me value it even more.

This experience taught me to be patient and that good things come when you work towards them.

Band 8 Answer

Something I deeply wanted but couldn’t get right away was a professional camera. I’ve always had a passion for photography, and I dreamed of owning a DSLR camera with a high-quality lens to take landscape and portrait shots.

I became interested in photography during high school, but at that time, I only used my phone. I researched different models, watched reviews online, and even practiced using a friend’s camera whenever I had the chance. However, professional cameras are quite expensive, and I didn’t have the money to buy one immediately.

To make it happen, I took on a few freelance jobs, including tutoring and part-time work at a bookstore. I also saved the money I received as birthday gifts. It took me nearly six months to collect enough to buy the camera I wanted.

The moment I finally held it in my hands, I felt an incredible mix of pride and excitement. It wasn’t just about owning the camera — it was about achieving something through consistent effort and determination. That camera is still one of my most valued possessions.
