IELTS Speaking Part 2 – Instructions

  • You will have 1 minute to think and make notes on the topic.

  • The examiner will give you paper and a pencil for note-making.

  • Then, you must speak continuously for 1–2 minutes on the topic.

  • Usually, this is around 10–12 sentences spoken naturally..

I remember a time when I told the truth to my teacher about forgetting to submit my homework. At first, I felt a little nervous and scared because I knew I could get in trouble. However, I decided to be honest and straightforward. I explained the reason honestly, and my teacher was understanding and kind. She appreciated my honesty and gave me a chance to submit the work later. I felt relieved and proud after telling the truth. This experience taught me that being honest is always better than hiding mistakes, and it helps to build trust with others.
