IELTS Speaking Part 2 – Instructions
You will have 1 minute to think and make notes on the topic.
The examiner will give you paper and a pencil for note-making.
Then, you must speak continuously for 1–2 minutes on the topic.
Usually, this is around 10–12 sentences spoken naturally..

I remember giving a speech on Independence Day in my school last year. I was nervous at first, but I practiced a lot before the event. In my speech, I talked about the importance of freedom, national heroes, and patriotism. I also mentioned how everyone should respect the country and contribute positively to society. The teachers and students listened attentively, which made me feel confident and proud. After finishing, I received applause and appreciation from everyone, which was very encouraging. Giving the speech taught me to express my thoughts clearly and overcome nervousness in front of an audience. Overall, it was a memorable and rewarding experience.
