Band 7 Answer
I had an interesting experience speaking Arabic when I visited a local market. I had only learned a few basic phrases like greetings and asking for prices. At first, I felt a little shy and unsure, but the shopkeeper was very friendly and patient. When I tried to speak, he understood me and even smiled. That moment gave me confidence and happiness. Although my grammar and pronunciation were not perfect, I managed to communicate my idea. It was a practical and useful experience that encouraged me to keep learning. I realized that even simple words can help create good connections with people.
Band 8 Answer
One memorable occasion when I spoke a foreign language was during my trip to a market where I tried to use Arabic. Although I had studied only basic vocabulary and expressions, I wanted to challenge myself. At first, I felt a bit nervous and self-conscious, worrying about making mistakes. However, the shopkeeper was very encouraging and welcoming, which made me more relaxed. I asked for prices, greeted him politely, and even managed to bargain a little in Arabic. The experience gave me a sense of achievement and confidence, as I was able to communicate despite my limited knowledge. What impressed me most was how language can bridge cultural gaps and make interactions more personal and meaningful. This small experience motivated me to improve my language skills further and showed me that practicing in real situations is more effective than just studying in books.
