IELTS Speaking Part 2 – Instructions

• The examiner will give you paper and a pencil for note-making.

• Then, you must speak continuously for 1–2 minutes on the topic.

Band 7 Answer

One activity I did with a group of people was volunteering to clean up a local park. A few friends and I decided to help because the park was full of trash. We planned the day and brought gloves, bags, and other supplies. We spent the morning picking up litter and making the place look nicer. It was hard work, but it felt good to help the community. We also had fun talking and working together. It was a great way to spend time with friends and do something useful.

Band 8 Answer

An experience I had working with a group was when a few friends and I volunteered for a community park clean-up initiative. The park had been neglected and littered, so we felt compelled to take action. We coordinated our efforts by dividing tasks — some people focused on collecting trash, while others cleaned benches and planted flowers. The teamwork was remarkable, and despite the physical effort involved, the sense of accomplishment was incredibly rewarding. Besides improving the environment, the activity strengthened our friendships and fostered a spirit of cooperation. It was a fulfilling experience that showed me the impact collective action can have.
