Family
PART 1
1. Do you have a big or small family?
Band 7:
I would say my family is not very big. We are five members, including my parents, my two sisters, and me. I really enjoy having siblings because I never feel lonely. Both of my sisters are close to me, and we often spend time together talking or doing fun activities. Although my family is small compared to extended families, it feels big enough for me. What I like most is the warmth and love we share. I honestly believe that a close and supportive family is more important than having a large one.
Band 8:
I would describe my family as moderately sized because there are five of us—my parents, my two sisters, and myself. Having two siblings is truly a blessing since I always have someone to talk to or share my feelings with. My sisters and I have different personalities, but that makes our bond even stronger. We do many activities together, from watching movies to helping each other with studies. Even though we don’t have a huge family, the closeness we share makes it very special. I value the fact that I can count on them anytime, whether for emotional support or simple companionship. For me, a loving family matters more than the number of members.
2. How much time do you spend with your family?
Band 7:
I try to spend as much time with my family as possible. Usually, we gather every evening for dinner, and that’s when we talk about our day. On weekends, we do activities like going out for a walk, shopping, or sometimes just watching a movie at home. I think these small moments help us stay connected. Even if I’m busy with studies, I make sure to talk to my parents and sisters every day. Spending time together makes me feel relaxed and happy. Without these family moments, my life would feel incomplete.
Band 8:
I spend a considerable amount of time with my family because I believe it strengthens our relationship. During weekdays, we usually have dinner together, which gives us the chance to discuss our daily experiences. On weekends, I enjoy going out with my parents and sisters for activities like shopping or dining outside. Sometimes we also prefer staying at home, watching movies, or playing games together. Although my schedule can get busy with schoolwork or other commitments, I always prioritize family time. For me, these shared experiences create unforgettable memories and deepen our bond. I honestly think that family time is the best form of relaxation and happiness.
3. Who are you closest to in your family?
Band 7:
I feel closest to my younger sister. She is the one I can share almost everything with, from personal secrets to school stress. She listens to me carefully and always gives me honest advice. We also enjoy doing things together, like cooking or going for walks. Even though we sometimes argue, we make up quickly because we understand each other so well. My parents are also supportive, but the bond with my sister feels very special. I feel lucky to have her as my sibling.
Band 8:
Among all my family members, I feel closest to my younger sister. She has a very kind and cheerful personality, which makes it easy to open up to her. I can share my worries, problems, and even my silly thoughts without feeling judged. We often spend time together doing things like cooking, studying, or just having long conversations. Of course, like any siblings, we sometimes disagree, but those moments never last long because we value each other too much. She understands me better than anyone else, and that makes our relationship truly special. I believe that having such a strong sibling bond is one of the best parts of family life.
4. What do you usually do with your family at home?
Band 7:
At home, I usually spend time with my family doing simple activities. We often watch TV together, especially dramas and comedy shows. My sisters and I sometimes cook with our mother, which is always fun. During weekends, we might play board games or help each other with housework. Even though these things are ordinary, they make us feel close. I think the important part is not what we do, but the fact that we enjoy being together. That makes our home very warm and lively.
Band 8:
When I am at home, I usually spend time with my family doing different activities that keep us connected. One of our favorite routines is watching television together, particularly dramas or comedy programs. My sisters and I also like to cook meals with our mother, which always turns into a fun and bonding experience. Sometimes we play indoor games or simply sit in the living room chatting about our lives. On weekends, we also help each other with household chores, which makes the work lighter and more enjoyable. What I love most is the laughter and conversations we share during these moments. It makes our house feel not just like a place to live, but a place filled with love and energy.
5. How important is family to you?
Band 7:
Family is extremely important to me. My parents and sisters are the people I can always depend on, no matter what happens. They give me support, encouragement, and love in every situation. Whenever I face problems, my family is the first place I turn to. I think life would be very difficult without their guidance. Having two sisters makes my life more colorful and enjoyable. I truly believe that family is the foundation of happiness, and I feel grateful every day to have such a caring one.
Band 8:
For me, family is the most important part of my life. My parents and sisters are not only my relatives but also my closest companions and advisors. They provide me with unconditional love, emotional support, and encouragement in everything I do. Whenever I face challenges, I can rely on them to guide me and lift my spirits. Having two sisters makes my life more joyful, as we share laughter, secrets, and memorable experiences together. I strongly believe that a supportive family is essential for building confidence and facing life’s difficulties. Without their presence, I would feel incomplete. To me, family is the true source of strength and happiness.
