Computers

PART 1

1. Do you use computers often?

Band 7:
Yes, I use computers almost every day. I need them for studying, watching videos, and doing online shopping. Sometimes I also use a computer for writing assignments and checking emails. It has become an important part of my daily routine. I think computers save a lot of time compared to doing everything manually. Without a computer, my life would feel more difficult. It is really a necessary tool now.

Band 8:
I use computers on a daily basis because they have become an inseparable part of my life. Most of my schoolwork and assignments are completed using a computer, as it helps me research and prepare documents easily. I also rely on it for entertainment, such as watching movies, listening to music, or even playing games. Online shopping and banking are other important uses, since they save both time and effort. In many ways, the computer is no longer just a machine but a necessity. I honestly believe it has transformed the way we study, work, and communicate in today’s world.

2. What do you usually use a computer for?

Band 7:
I usually use my computer for studying and doing homework. I search for information online and prepare my assignments. I also use it for social media and staying connected with my friends. Another thing I do is online shopping and paying bills. Sometimes I use my computer for watching movies or listening to music. So, I use it for both work and entertainment in my daily life.

Band 8:
Most of the time, I use my computer for academic purposes, like researching topics, writing essays, and making presentations. Apart from that, I also use it for personal tasks such as online banking, shopping, and managing my emails. Social media is another important part, since I often use my computer to connect with friends and share updates. For relaxation, I enjoy watching movies, listening to music, or sometimes playing games. In short, the computer serves as a multi-functional tool that supports both my studies and personal activities. It is difficult to imagine managing my routine without it.

3. Do you think computers are important in daily life?

Band 7:
Yes, I think computers are very important in daily life. People use them for studying, working, and even shopping. Computers make tasks much faster and easier. Without them, many things would take more time and effort. For example, writing by hand or finding information in books would be slow. Today, computers are a basic need, just like phones or the internet. I believe they are necessary for almost everyone.

Band 8:
I strongly believe computers are absolutely essential in daily life. They are used for education, business, communication, and even entertainment. Tasks that once took hours can now be done in minutes with the help of a computer. For example, online research, banking, and shopping have all become extremely convenient. Beyond that, computers also play a vital role in storing and organizing information securely. In the modern world, they are no longer a luxury but a necessity. I think it’s almost impossible to function effectively in society today without access to a computer.

4. Do you prefer using a computer or a mobile phone?

Band 7:
I usually prefer using my mobile phone because it is more convenient and easy to carry. However, for studying and writing assignments, I prefer a computer. The bigger screen and keyboard make it easier to work. For simple things like chatting or checking social media, my phone is enough. But when I need to focus, I choose the computer. So, both are useful, but it depends on the situation.

Band 8:
I would say it depends on the task, but generally, I prefer using a computer for serious work and a mobile phone for quick activities. For example, when I need to write essays, prepare presentations, or search for information in detail, the computer is much more practical. Its large screen and full keyboard make the process easier and more comfortable. On the other hand, for casual activities like chatting, browsing, or checking updates, my phone is more convenient. So, I don’t think one replaces the other; instead, they complement each other. Both devices have become essential in my daily life.

Band 7:
Honestly, I don’t think I could live without a computer. It has become very important for my studies and daily activities. Without it, I would find it difficult to finish my assignments or search for information. Shopping and banking would also be harder. Of course, I could still use my phone, but it would not be the same. For me, a computer is a necessary tool, not just a machine.

Band 8:
To be honest, I find it almost impossible to imagine living without a computer. It plays such a crucial role in my education, entertainment, and communication. Without it, tasks like researching, preparing documents, or even online shopping would become extremely difficult. While a smartphone could replace some functions, it would not provide the same comfort or efficiency as a computer. For me, it’s more than just a device—it’s a necessity in today’s world. I think living without a computer would make life slower, less convenient, and much more stressful.
