Band 7 Answer
I remember apologizing to my friend when I forgot to return her book on time. She needed it for her studies, but I completely forgot about it. When she asked me, I felt guilty and embarrassed. I quickly said sorry and explained the situation honestly. My friend was very understanding and kind, and she accepted my apology. I promised to be more responsible in the future. That moment taught me that even small mistakes can affect others, and saying sorry is a way to show respect and care. It was a simple but important experience in friendship.
Band 8 Answer
An apology I clearly remember making was when I forgot to return a friend’s book, which she urgently needed for her exam. I had borrowed it for reference, but due to my busy schedule, I completely overlooked returning it on time. When she reminded me, I felt ashamed and regretful, because I knew I had caused her inconvenience. I immediately apologized sincerely and explained what had happened. To my relief, she was very forgiving and considerate. I not only returned the book right away but also promised to handle borrowed items with more care and responsibility in the future. This experience taught me that a genuine apology can repair trust and strengthen relationships. It also reminded me that being mindful of others’ needs is just as important as managing our own priorities.
